Steps that need to be followed for E Filing taxes in India

  Step 1: Register on Income-tax portal http://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in

  Step 2: Finish the Registration process

  Step 3: Login to Income-tax portal

  Step 4: Downloading and filling Form 2F from http://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in

  Step 5: Create an e-return file (in XML format)

  Step 6: Upload e-Return to Income-tax Server

  Step 7: Print/Save Acknowledgement

  Step 8: Physical submission to the nearest designated Post Office(if you have not signed digitally)
